Name: Prof. Prabhat Ranjan
Area of Interest: Nuclear Fusion, Planetary Exploration, Assistive Technology
Prof. Ranjan is a Nuclear Fusion Scientist, a Futurist, an Educator, an Innovator, an Entrepreneur and a Science Communicator. Currently he is a vice chancellor of DY Patil Internation University, Pune. He was the Executive Director of India’s Technology Think Tank, TIFAC (Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council). TIFAC is an autonomous body of Department of Science and Technology, Government of India.
TIFAC developed Technology Vision 2035 during his tenure, which was released by Hon’ble PM in Jan 2016. PMO has directed all Dept/Ministries to follow this document and take the agenda forward under leadership of NITI Aayog. Earlier he worked for nearly 20 years making important contribution to Nuclear Fusion research as scientist in India and USA. His remarkable innovative contributions include India’s Moon Mission, Wildlife and Agriculture sector. He is particularly known for his innovations in the field of assistive technology that has helped to put smiles on the faces of persons with severe disability.

Suresh Prasad Singh has over 20 years of experience in managing projects and conducting research on various issues relating to industry, socio-economic and international trade. For the last three years from September 2017 to September 2020, he worked for Asian Development Bank as Staff Consultant and was deployed at Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, Government of India. Prior to this, he worked with EEPC India (formerly Export Promotion Council of India) as Joint Director – Policy for two and half years, starting April 2015. He has also worked for more than six years (since April 2009) with CUTS International (CUTS Centre for International Trade Economics and Environment) as Policy Analyst and as Economist with the Centre for Industrial and Economic Research.

Aparna Sharma is an economist with over 11 years of experience in research and project implementation which includes primary survey, handling several databases, contributed to several articles and project reports etc. She obtained PhD from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore. Previously, she worked with India Development Foundation (IDF) as a researcher of Innovation Economy, Technology and Development. Before that she was working with CUTS International where she conducted research in the international border areas of four South Asian countries under various projects on regional connectivity and trade. She was also associated with the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan as a visiting research scholar. Before CUTS International, she held research assistant positions at various reputed institutions.
Dr. Akriti Jain works as a Post-Doctoral Associate at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. Prior to joining IISc, she worked as a Fellow at the CUTS Institute for Regulation and Competition, New Delhi and was researching on promoting innovation and competition for efficient use of Intellectual Property (IP) in India. She holds a doctorate degree in Economics of Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi, India. Previously she also held several positions for teaching and corporate communication in Science and Technology Institutes.

Mohd Shadab Danish is a full-time PhD scholar (Economics) at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Indore. He obtained MPhil in Economics from the University of Hyderabad.

Anurag Anand has recently submitted his PhD thesis on the title ‘Growth of Multinational Corporations in India: An Analysis of Government Policies and Performance’ at Centre for Development Studies -Trivandrum, Kerala. He obtained his M.Phil. degree in Economics from Central University of Gujarat in 2013. His current research includes policy reforms, technological advancement and share of MNCs in India’s Pharmaceutical, Motor Vehicles and IT services industry.
He has been visiting PhD scholar at Department of International Economics & Management- Copenhagen Business School, Denmark. He was associated with the National Cheng Kung University (Department of Business Administration), Taiwan as a visiting research scholar under Ministry of Education, Government of Taiwan. He has presented papers in several national and international universities/institutes including IGIDR-Mumbai, IISc-Bangalore, IIT-Madras, NCKU-Taiwan, CBS-Denmark, SANEM-Bangladesh and IIT-Delhi etc.
